A visit to his hometown of Verwood to see his parents led Joel and husband James to a new exciting life in a Pennyfarthing Homes’ development in Potters Wood.

The couple were enjoying a dog walk around the area, with Joel’s parents, when they were drawn into viewing Pennyfarthing’s new development in the town which instantly started the next chapter in their lives.

Joel, 35, picks up the story. “We were immediately drawn into the showhome for a viewing. The timing was perfect as we were thinking of buying a bigger house and moving out of our apartment in Bournemouth.”

Joel explains why Verwood immediately became their first choice: “I’ve lived in East Dorset all my life. I moved to Verwood at the age of 13 and have always liked it here – it’s very safe, I have friends and family that live locally. James took no convincing to move here. He loves taking the dogs out to the forest.”

After the viewing, Joel and James knew that Overwood, a large three-bedroom semi-detached home, was a perfect option for them: “The reason we chose Overwood, apart from the extra bedroom, is that it came with its own driveway and garage. This was a big selling point for us because we have lots of stuff, so the extra space provides room for us to store our belongings while making the rest of the house our own.”

The layout of their home and the quality of the build were major highlights. “We were thrilled to get a plot that was south facing. James loves the sun, so it was another major selling point for the house, and it also means we can create a gorgeous back garden. The design, the layout, the extra bedroom, the garage, the positioning – everything came together and fell into place naturally.”

Moving into a new family home is a significant milestone in anyone’s life, and Joel felt supported and informed by Pennyfarthing Homes throughout the process: “The sales team kept us up to date with the progress of the build, which definitely helped reassure us along the way. This didn’t stop once we moved in either, as the team kept in touch with us throughout the moving in process and have been checking in to make sure we’re settling down in our new home. Having settled into their new place, Joel and James looking forward to the future.
