Our Team
Mark began working for Pennyfarthing in 1986 and is one of the sons of Trevor Adams, the founder of Pennyfarthing.
In 2010 Mark gained a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Leadership and Management (Master’s Degree equivalent) from the Chartered Management Institute. He has a wealth of practical experience having worked in virtually every role within Pennyfarthing Homes.
Mark is a Commoner and owns many New Forest Ponies, he also owns a number of racehorses and takes part in the annual New Forest Point to Point, winning on more than one occasion. Away from the horses he helps run a boys’ football team, supports Southampton FC and enjoys a skiing holiday.
Matt joined Pennyfarthing Homes in 2005 coming from previous positions with Chase Manhattan Bank, New Forest District Council, Chesterton International Property Consultants, King Sturge International Property Consultants.
He studied at Greenwich University (BSc Degree in Building Surveying), and had 2 years professional on the job training before passing the RICS Test of Professional Competence and becoming a Chartered Surveyor.
Matt owns a 1984 Porsche 911 – classic car and is a massive football fan, having played and managed Youth Teams, culminating in League & Cup double at U18 level and is now a Saints season ticket holder.
Danny is also one of Trevor’s sons and began working for Pennyfarthing in 1981 as a labourer during his summer Holidays.
Danny began his building career proper at Southampton Technical College before becoming a Site Manager for Pennyfarthing Homes and ultimately moving to Head Office where he oversees the Buying, Sales and Design Departments.
When not in the office, Danny is very active, playing football, riding horses, cycling, running, walking his dogs and visiting different parts of the world with his wife and family.
Chartered Surveyor Ben Arnold joined the Pennyfarthing Homes team as Land & Planning Manager in October 2017. Ben previously worked as a Director in the Development Team of Savills (UK) Limited in charge of the valuation business on the south coast. Ben is married with three children and outside of a busy family life enjoys cycling, walking and shooting.
We welcomed Steve back to the team in 2017 as Construction Manager, following his previous role as a Site Manager in 1997. Steve left the company in 2000 to pursue a career as a building surveyor, gaining his chartered status with the RICS. His new career involved running his own professional practice to working on the largest land development project in the World in Dubai – quite the achievement!
Steve is a professional boxing coach which takes up a lot of his spare time along with his passion for motorbikes.
Simon is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and brings a wealth of experience having held a number of Senior Finance roles. He was the Group Financial Controller for the largest Property Management company in the UK as well as the Finance Director for an Installation and Maintenance business in the Fire and Warden call industry. Finally before joining Pennyfarthing Homes, he was Director of Finance for an Insurance software company which was a subsidiary of a Global group.
Having hung up his football boots he is now a keen cyclist having cycled up both Alpe D’huez and Mont Ventoux for charity.
Sarah joined Pennyfarthing Homes in 2003 when she moved to the New Forest. She previously worked in Human Resources for such varied companies as Superdrug, Motorola and, most recently, the National Trust.
Sarah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
When not in the office Sarah loves both classic cars and sailing.
Quinton joined Pennyfarthing in 2003 as a Purchasing Manager from Parker Bath.
He has been a full member of the Chartered Institute for Procurement & Supply since 1999 and made his career in the manufacturing industry prior to joining Pennyfarthing.
Outside the office Quinton is keen on home refurbishment and improvement, plays golf regularly and enjoys family time.
