13 May The Orchards showcasing the latest in interior design
Situated just outside the medieval city of Salisbury, the 2019 Best Place to Live in the UK winner, is The Orchards offering 28 unique new homes in the picturesque Wiltshire countryside. With a choice of ten different property styles, the three, four- and five-bedroom homes, priced from £280,000, are ideal for families. Interior Designer Charlotte Cann, from Claude Hooper, designed the stylish interiors of the new show home, the four-bedroom Whaddon, and shares her inspiration for the interior design of the home, as well as current interior trends.
“My inspiration for this design was modern Scandinavian with an eclectic twist. We created a mural in bedroom three which was inspired by a vintage ski scene, then we styled the room using ski accessories.” In terms of the colours used in the Whaddon: “The teals and strong green blues with accents of ochre that I have used throughout the whole house are very much on trend at the moment.” Charlotte also highlighted the artwork chosen for the home; stylish prints inspired by nature featuring different species of birds, a theme which continues to be very popular in interior design.
The Whaddon is situated in one of the leafy corners of the development. Both the family living room and the kitchen have French doors leading out to the spacious garden. The new show home also benefits from a generous double garage. Upstairs, the Whaddon has three well-proportioned bedrooms and a smaller fourth bedroom which could alternatively be used as a study for working from home. The master bedroom with en-suite also has an adjoining dressing room with built in wardrobes. Bedroom two also benefits from a contemporary en suite, while the third and fourth bedrooms sharing the family bathroom.
If you are wondering how to go about the interior design of your new Orchards home, Charlotte had the following advice to ensure your style has longevity: “I would recommend using things you love in your home and that you’re drawn to; such as a beautiful rug or a comfy chair. Things that make you feel happy that you’ve arrived home. Lighting is also so important and it’s worth investing in good quality standard lamps with linen shades. Just having lamps on in a room rather than main overhead lighting can bring more warmth and ambience to a room”.
Neighbouring The Orchards development, are the villages of Whaddon and Alderbury offering friendly communities and a range of activities for children, with facilities including a football pitch and skate park. A couple of popular pubs and convenience stores ensure that all the essentials are on your doorstep. At the same time The Orchards is surrounded by the Wiltshire countryside and the picturesque River Avon, so it is easy to forget that you are just minutes away from the historic city of Salisbury.
Salisbury can be easily reached by bus or car, from where you can get to both London and Southampton by direct train. It has a lot to offer in the way of entertainment; from shops and restaurants to theatres and leisure centres.
The Orchards show home is open Thursday through to Monday from 10am to 5pm. To register for a viewing please call 01722 786786 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
