Mission Christmas kick-starts this month

Mission Christmas is the largest Christmas toy appeal in the UK and starts this month. Wave 105’s charity Cash for Kids, is urging people to help support children along the south coast, living in poverty, by buying an extra gift for a disadvantaged child this year in aid of Mission Christmas.

There are a staggering 88,635 children in the region living in poverty. Christmas can be a difficult time for the families of these children, but with help from Cash for Kids, through the Wave 105 Mission Christmas appeal, these children have the opportunity to open gifts on Christmas morning.

Mari-Louise White, Cash for Kids charity manager said: “We are proud to support Mission Christmas, the largest Christmas toy appeal in the UK, but sadly the number of children living in poverty is increasing.

Cash for Kids collected 78,382 presents that were distributed to poverty-stricken, local children. Our mission is to provide gifts for all these children to wake up to on Christmas morning, but we need your help to do this. Without your continued support, Mission Christmas simply wouldn’t exist.”

These are a number of registered drop off locations listed on the Wave 105 website, where people can support Mission Christmas by taking new, unwrapped gifts suitable for children and young people aged 0-18 years, to their local drop off point ahead of Christmas.
