Awards

In pursuit of excellence and innovation, Pennyfarthing Homes are delighted that their efforts have been recognised nationally with a number of awards in recent years.

The National House Building Council (NHBC) set up its 'Pride In The Job' competition in 1980 to seek out the UK's best Site Managers and reward them for creating quality and well finished new homes.  Pennyfarthing Homes are delighted to have won this accolade 8 times since 2002.

They are also very proud to be winners of the "Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative" at the Housebulding Innovation Awards 2008 and they featured prominently in the Daily Express British Housebuilder Awards for customer satisfaction, finishing in the top four in 2006 and 2007.  Read more about the awards below ...

2010

For the fifth consecutive year, Pennyfarthing were once again awarded one of these prestigious Awards.  This was Richard Hill's third Pride in the Job Award, this time for Chestnut Grove in Manor Road, New Milton.  Pennyfarthing are proud of Richard's ongoing achievements, and this well-deserved accolade is confirmation of their commitment to quality.

2009

In 2009, Pennyfarthing were delighted to have been awarded two NHBC Pride In The Job Quality Awards. The Awards went to two Pennyfarthing Site Managers, Colin Bix for The Laurels, Vincent Close in New Milton and Phil Johnson for Oak Apple Grove, Station Road also in New Milton (see photo right), thus confirming that homes on winning sites have been built to an exceptional standard.

2008

Pennyfarthing Homes won "Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative" in the Housebuilding Innovation Awards. This National Award was in recognition of the Pennyfarthing CRC (Customer Ready Certificate) process, whereby stringent checks are made on every property to ensure that snagging items at handover are minimised if not completely removed.

The judges were impressed by Pennyfarthing's aim to provide each of its customers with a defect free home and admired their approach of comparing the housebuilding process to purchasing a new car - if all parts are in place, the product "sparkles".

And in the same week, Richard Hill (pictured right), Pennyfarthing's Site Manager at Sovereign Place, Whitefield Road, New Milton, was a Regional Winner in the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.  Being the "Oscars" of the Construction Industry and with Richard being placed in the Top 9 out of 18,000 Site Managers this was an incredible achievement especially as it was his second Award in two successive years.

2007

For the second year in succession, Pennyfarthing was a Top 10 Finalist in the Daily Express British Housebuilder Awards. These Awards are particularly coveted as they are voted for by new home owners, who are invited to complete and return an independent questionnaire based on all aspects of their home buying experience.

2007 brought a double-win in the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards, with two Site Managers being winners - Richard Hill for Cavendish Place, Avenue Road, Lymington, and  Phil Johnson for Rothesay Point, Wharncliffe Road, Highcliffe.  The outstanding quality of Phil's and Richard's work stood them out from the competition proving to the judges they are a cut above the rest.

2006

Pennyfarthing received the Silver Accolade in the 2006 Daily Express British Housebuilder Awards.  To be placed 2nd in the UK was an amazing achievement and one of which the Company was exceptionally proud.  In a society where customers' expectations are high, this Award proved that Pennyfarthing rank amongst the best in the Country.

Steve Fieldhouse was an NHBC Pride in the Job winner for his unique development at Brookley Lodge, Grigg Lane, Brockenhurst, within the New Forest National Park.
